More Stop-Mostion Video

April 25, 2009

Karly, Kyrstin(classmates) and I partnered up this last week to do a stop motion video for out Multimedia class (a new addition to the curriculum at Western). We all had our own ideas in the beginning, but were able to merge them all in to something I am very proud of.

We did all our shooting at East Sooke Park just after sunrise, and shoot a lot we did. We ended up with over 1000 photos between the three of us. The lighting ended up being perfect and we all patted ourselves on the back for being such keeners.

We ended up using a new Coldplay song (“Now My Feet Won’t Touch the Ground”) and I think the song works perfectly, though after listening to it endlessly all week,
I can take a break from it and not miss it.

Enjoy.

Mexico

April 25, 2009

So Kevin and I got back from Mexico on Tuesday (I actually drove straight from the airport to school and was only two minutes late!). We spent a lot of time sitting on the beach drinking beers and then going out for fish tacos. It was a great break and I cam back rested and ready to gear up for my last few weeks of school.

I took some (only, like, 1000) photos, so here you go:

This is a fake tilt-shift, taken from Anna and David’s balcony.

And another fake tilt-shift of the pool at the condo complex.

The first night in Mexico, Kevin and I had to stay in a hotel because the guests who rented Anna and David’s place hadn’t left yet. We stayed at Las Brisas, a beautiful mega-resort in Ixtapa.
The place was HUGE (we had to walk nearly a mile from the elevator to our room at the end of the hall) and had it’s own “private” beach. This one was taken at the bar on the way out

A night shot of the Las Brisas beach at night. Such a random light, but I guess the hotel doesn’t want it’s guest to drown while night swimming….

Taken at the SeaTac Airport, on the way down.

The Last Two Weeks

April 3, 2009

Here are a few photos from the last two weeks. I finished up Fashion Week at school and took a short trip to California for my Mother’s 60th Birthday party. Thanks Mom, for flying my back to sunny California. I had a great time and was disappointed to discover that it was still raining (and nearly snowing) when I returned back to Beautiful (WET!) British Columbia.

This was a studio shot I did with fellow WAP-er Jon Lake.

Shot with my Lensbaby (which has been happily been sitting unused in my camera bag for MONTHS) from the plane. I had the best seat too, Emergency exit, with no one next to me.

More photos from my “home studio” that I set up when I go to my Mom’s house.

Another Lensbaby shot from Fashion Week. We were lucky and got to go to the Odeon Theatre in Downtown Victoria.

Possibly the best wall I have seen in a while. Can you tell where I photoshopped more wall in?
