Blah, Paperwork

July 28, 2009

I am in the process of immigrating to Canada and as such, have a pile of paperwork to get thru in order to get permanent residency. I am applying for a “common law” visa, with Kevin, and one of the questions that I have answer is “Did you and your sponsor[Kevin] go on outings and/or trips together?” If the answer is “Yes,” which it is for me and Kevin, you have to “Describe the types of trips/outings on a separate piece of paper and attach photos, if any.”

Kevin and I have gone on a lot of trips and/or outings together, so I got to dig thru all my photo archives and pull out a bunch of photos. I may have gone a little overboard, but at least the Canadian government won’t have any doubts.

Here is a very small collection of photos from the archives (a few of them were taken by Kevin, and you should be able to tell which ones they are, cause they are of me!):

Beacon Hill Park

July 23, 2009

Today I went out to Beacon Hill Park with Ashley and Carolyne, two wonder women who I met at while at WAP. We had lunch, I bought a new 50mm lens – because mine got stolen :( , and  then headed over to the park. We had fun shooting each other and the numerous birds (as well as the children, who so enjoy tormenting the fowl of Beacon Hill). A few photos from the day (and what a fabulous sunny 16 day it was!):

So, I made my very own ugly doll. He used to be a black sweater, but now he has pointy ears, button eyes and no name. And…my friend Heather came over and we did a little photo shoot. Heather decided to dress up a little, and was going for an undead/zombie/vampire/glamor look, which went along with Baby Ugly Doll’s look, his only look; so he worked well as a prop.

So, without further ado I present Ms. Wellman and Baby Ugly Doll:

JLP on a bike!

July 10, 2009

Yesterday fellow WAP grad, Jon Lake (aka JLP) and I went out to take some photos together. We ended up out at the new dirt jump park near the airport, where I attempted to take some photos of JLP on his bike. I should state, for the record, that I know very little about dirt bikes, jumps and tricks. I am also not very good at panning, but I did end up with one shot that I am happy about.

After a not so successful shoot at the park, we stopped by Cattle Point and I did a few shots of JLP on his bike:

Oh, Canada

July 2, 2009

It is hard for me to believe that I have lived in Canada for a year now! Yesterday was Canada Day, and it seems like only yesterday that I was watching last years fireworks. This year Dan (Kevin’s brother in law) invited Kevin and me to a business party he was having at the penthouse of the Laurel Point Inn. We had the best spot in the bay to watch the show.

A few photos:
