Ferry Rides and Wind

April 10, 2010

I have a love not so much love relationship with the ferries from Victoria to Vancouver. They seem overly expensive to me, and an hour and a half trip on board ends up taking three hours out of your day because you have to get there early, etc. But the ride is pretty awesome. It is a beautiful trip through the islands and if the weather is nice it is fun to go sit up on the sun deck and enjoy the view. So that is exactly what Kelsey and I did on our way home from Vancouver. We enjoyed the sun, the views and the chance to take some wind-blown photos.

I recently did a little photoshoot with Kristina Mai, a model here in Victoria. I have worked with her before (you may recognize her from my banner photo) and love that she brings such a great variety of clothes to the shoots we do together. Here are a few photos from our recent shoot together. And even though it is a little premature, Happy Birthday Kristina!

Discarded

Kelsey Goodwin (my friend, and excellent photographer, kgoodphotoblog.com) and I have been trying to meet up a shoot for a while. I had been kicking around an idea involving abandoned furniture and Kelsey is always game to try something new. So I scouted out some abandoned furniture and away we went! We were shooting pretty close to the highway and I can’t count how many cars honked as they drove by. I have featured a few of Kelsey’s photos here, for more check out her blog here.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of tagging along with Georgie to a photoshoot out at the BC Aviation Museum. An excellent location to shoot at! The weather was perfect, with some high cloud cover and sun. The model looked great, sporting three very different outfits. And I got to play with my lights and camera gear! I took way too many photos and have a ton of favorites. Here are just a few!

The Last Two Weeks

April 3, 2009

Here are a few photos from the last two weeks. I finished up Fashion Week at school and took a short trip to California for my Mother’s 60th Birthday party. Thanks Mom, for flying my back to sunny California. I had a great time and was disappointed to discover that it was still raining (and nearly snowing) when I returned back to Beautiful (WET!) British Columbia.

This was a studio shot I did with fellow WAP-er Jon Lake.

Shot with my Lensbaby (which has been happily been sitting unused in my camera bag for MONTHS) from the plane. I had the best seat too, Emergency exit, with no one next to me.

More photos from my “home studio” that I set up when I go to my Mom’s house.

Another Lensbaby shot from Fashion Week. We were lucky and got to go to the Odeon Theatre in Downtown Victoria.

Possibly the best wall I have seen in a while. Can you tell where I photoshopped more wall in?
