Katie and Andrew :: Victoria Civil Ceremony Wedding Photography

So, it turns out that the logistics of getting legally married in Mexico are harder than you would think. So, often times Canadians (and Americans, I presume) fill out all their appropriate paperwork here at home and just have their parties a far. Such was the case with Katie and Andrew, who had their civil ceremony here in Victoria last week to “legalize” the wedding they had just had in Mexico. It was such a treat to spend part of my day with these two and their two witnesses, at Saxe Point. There was so much love in the small group they had assembled and I wish them all the best the years to come!

Emily :: Hornby Portrait Photography

One more post from Hornby. This shoot was a lot of fun both in the making and in the shooting. Emily had a great idea for a photo she wanted and it was a pleasure helping her make it happen (it’s not everyday you get to pin some seaweed into someone’s hair). I also tried out a few new tricks using a prism and gave freelensing another go.

Hornby Photography Retreat 2013

For the last three years I have had the pleasure of heading off to Hornby Island for a little photography/women’s retreat. It has always been amazing and this year was no different. Here are a few photos of the lovely women I hung out with while on the island.

Shane and Co. – Victoria Portrait Photography

Shane is an awesome photographer in his own right, so it was a wee bit intimidating shooting him and his lovely family. It was also freezing. All in all we had a great time though and watching his kids run around makes me even more excited for my rapidly approaching initiation into motherhood. Here are a few of my faves from our shoot.

Kat and Mark :: Vancouver Engagement Photography

I need to get over to Vancouver more often. I love Victoria and the small town feel it has, but I do miss the hustle and bustle of the city. Once upon a time I lived in a city with almost 3 million people in it (Osaka, Japan) but I have since grown accustomed to the 80,000 I now share Victoria with. Thankfully Kat and Mark are giving me an excuse to return to Vancouver in September for their wedding. And it was great getting together with them last week. Here are a few shots from their engagement session.
